The SIOR Middle and East Tennessee Chapter held a full day of
education, Chapter business, and social activities for SIORs and
Chapter guests in early April. The event was held at the YMCA
Y-CAP facility in Nashville, TN. Bill Burgess, SIOR, CCIM, SIOR
Instructor, gave a presentation on Negotiating Skills. Approximately
20 members and 15 guests attended the class, and nearly 40 members
and guests attended the reception at Fat Bottom Brewing Co.

The SIOR Northern California Chapter held a Northern California-Silicon Valley Mini-Convention in February at the Hotel Valencia in
Valencia, CA. Sixty-five members and prospective members attended
the first part of the convention, including a presentation from Robert
Nahigian, SIOR, CRE, FRICS, MCR, titled “The New Era of Logistics
and Supply Chain Impacting Tomorrow’s Industrial Real Estate
Decisions.” Nearly 115 members and guests attended the second part
of the convention, featuring a high level commercial real estate panel,
who gave their 2013 market outlook from a developers point of view.

The SIOR Oregon Chapter hosted a seminar conducted by Robert
J. Nahigian, SIOR, FRICS, CRE, MCR, and SIOR Instructor, titled
“The New Era of Logistics and Supply Chain Impacting Tomorrow’s
Real Estate Decisions.” The seminar was sponsored by Dermody
Properties. More than 25 members and guests were in attendance.
The SIOR North Texas Chapter attended the tour of a George W.
Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Nearly 35 members
attended the tour. Jeff Innmon, Project Manager for the Bush
Library, led the tour. The museum opened earlier this spring.
