Greater Los Angeles Chapter Holds Young
Professionals and Fun Shoot Events
In September, the SIOR Greater Los Angeles Chapter continued
its pursuit of expanding its networking and recruitment efforts
across Southern California by hosting a Young Professionals
recruitment and networking event and a Fun Shoot.
SIOR Greater Los Angeles Young Professionals and prospective members at Paul Martin’s
The Young Professionals event was held at Paul Martin’s
of America in El Segundo, California and was attended by
more than 15 Chapter members and prospective members.
Prospective members were invited to come and learn more
about the designation and qualifications necessary to become
a member.
Greater Los Angeles Chapter Members at the Fun Shoot
The Chapter held its Second Annual LA/Inland Empire/Orange
County Sporting Clay Fun Shoot at BBB Sporting Clays in El
Monte, California. Sixteen Chapter members attended the fun
shoot which included instruction from two of the top sporting
clay shooters in the country. Ken Simpson, SIOR walked away
with top honors, smoking 43 out of 50 targets. The Fun Shoot
is part of the 2010 “Four Corners” Networking Program which
includes quarterly social events for Chapter members in different
submarkets.
Greater Los Angeles Chapter Holds Annual Investor/
Developer Night
The SIOR Greater Los Angeles Chapter held its Annual Investor/
Developer Night in September at the Jonathon Club in downtown
Los Angeles, California. The event, attended by more than 65
real estate professionals, featured an “open microphone” discussion on industry trends impacting the industrial and office activity within the Southern California markets.

In August, the SIOR Ohio Chapter held its annual Fall Chapter
Meeting & Golf Outing at The Lakes Golf & Country Club in
Westerville, Ohio. More than 65 Chapter members and sponsors attended the event featuring a panel discussion, “Blue Skies
Ahead? Lessons Learned for the Great Recession and What to
Expect Moving Forward” moderated by Chapter President, Rick
Trott, SIOR. Panelists included Bill Chester, DCT; Brian Marsh,
Prologis; Ken Smith, IDI and Andy Weeks, Caymus Real Estate.
Preceding the panel was presentation on legislative and governmental affairs at the state and national level given by representatives from the Ohio Association of REALTORS.
