The SIOR Canada Central Chapter welcomed more than 265 golfers
at their 41st Annual Golf Classic in June. An impressive $2,100 was
raised in support of the St. John's Ambulance Peel Chapter while
golfers enjoyed beautiful weather and the prestigious course at
Rattlesnake Point in Milton, ON.
For the last few years, the SIOR Chicago Chapter has taken a charity
under its wing and has raised money for the Ada S. McKinley
College-Bound Scholarship program. The Chapter has been
extremely generous and has been a huge participant in the program.
Members from the Chicago Chapter Charitable Committee attended
an event in July in support of the program and it was covered by the
local TV news.

In May the SIOR Chicago Chapter held their monthly luncheon at
the Rosewood Restaurant in Rosemont, IL. Gary Fencik, former
Chicago Bears Superbowl Champion, spoke to the audience of
members about attributes and lessons he’s learned that have led to
his personal success as the partner and head of business development
at Adams Street Partners.

In April, the SIOR Chicago Chapter held their monthly luncheon
at the Rosewood Restaurant in Rosemont, IL. Robert “Bob” Dold,
former U.S. Congressman from the 10th District, focused his
discussion on the current economic and legislative climate for local
manufacturing and its relation to the industrial real estate market.

The SIOR Canada East Chapter hosted its 4th Annual Ski Day at
the Mont-Tremblant Ski Resort in Mont-Tremblant, QC. More than
100 Real Estate professionals enjoyed the weekend of skiing and
fun. More than $3,000 was raised for the F.I.M.J (La Fondation
Immobilière de Montréal pour les Jeunes/Montréal Real Estate
Foundation for Kids), an organization that benefits children in need
in the Montréal Area.
The SIOR Chicago recently received an award for Excellence at the
SIOR 2013 Spring World Conference held in Palm Desert, CA in
early May. They won the “Young Professionals (YP) Chapter Event
Award” for their 2012 event which included a tour of Wrigley Field
and ended with a networking reception in Chicago. The inaugural
award was given to the SIOR Chapter with the most creative and
effective YP event. This was the third annual YP event for the
Chicago Chapter and resulted in attracting new members to SIOR.
