The SIOR Northern California Chapter hosted a "Mini-Convention
"in February at the Hotel Valencia in San Jose, California. The
event was attended by 95 members and guests. The convention
was split into two parts. Part 1 featured Rob Nahigian, SIOR,CRE,
FRICS, MCR, who spoke about build-to-suit redevelopment.
Part 2 was a panel discussion featuring Luis Belmonte, Seven
Hills Property, as the moderator and Brandon Page, Prologis; Don
Shaver, LBA Realty; John Sobrato, The Sobrato Organization, and
John Winther, Harvest Properties as the panelists.
Ohio Chapter Holds Spring Meeting

The SIOR Ohio Chapter held its Annual Spring Meeting in March
at the Columbus Board of REALTORS in Columbus, Ohio. The
meeting was attended by more than 70 members and featured guest
speaker Mark Kvamme, President of JobsOhio.

St. Louis Chapter Hosts Chapter Luncheon

The SIOR St. Louis Chapter held a Chapter Lunch in February at
the St. Louis Club in St. Louis, Missouri. Forty members were in
attendance at the luncheon where there was an award ceremony for
the top SIOR deals in 2011. Winners included the following:
• Largest Office deal – Lynn Schenck, SIOR
• Largest Investment deal – Dennis DeSantis, SIOR

The SIOR St. Louis Chapter hosted a recruitment event in March
at Tucci’s & Fresta’s in Clayton, Missouri. Twelve members and
prospective members met to discuss the benefits of the SIOR designation. They were joined by SIOR President Geoffrey Kreusser,
SIOR, FRICS, and Vice President, Terry Smith, SIOR, CCIM.

The SIOR St. Louis Chapter held it 28th Annual Metro Market
Forecast in March at the Ritz-Carlton Clayton in St. Louis,
Missouri. More than 500 SIOR’s, bankers, brokers, attorneys, and
architects attended the event where D. Sheldon Johnson, SIOR,
CCIM; James W. Mosby, SIOR, CCIM; Jim Rosen, CCIM; and
Geoff Kreusser, SIOR, FRICS presented a panel discussion.

The SIOR Virginia Chapter hosted its 22nd Annual Midwinter
Conference in February. Sixty members and guests were in attendance for the two-day event that was held at the Williamsburg
Lodge in Williamsburg, Virginia. David Blanchard, NAI Global,
conducted a broker seminar and Terry Smith, SIOR, CCIM, and
Pat Sentner, SIOR, updated the membership on SIOR initiatives.
The luncheon speaker, Rob Fenza, Liberty Property Trust, led a
discussion on current market trends and future forecasts.
